Who can volunteer?

Both students and professionals can volunteer. The hearing care clinic is mainly targeting audiologists and ENTs, but in some cases there is a need for a Social Worker. Are you are student doing an Internship or specific field research please contact us and we can see how we can help you achieving the best results and collaborate with your home university.

Minimum age is 18 years to participate in our program.

Qualifications

Due to the general lack of hearing care clinics in Amazonas, you will experience that many locals come with all types of hearing care issues that needs to be addressed. We do not expect the volunteers to cure or improve all issues, but it requires a high degree of independence and responsibility in order to know your professional limitations not causing harm to the patients.

Due to the safety of you and your clients, we do require some basic skills within these areas. If you are an audiologist and ENT student, you will have to have the first year completed at your program as a minimum.

There will always be a professional audiologist at the clinic that you will assist. There will further be an administrative professional providing the necessary support for the volunteers as well as maintenance and hygiene of the place.
